This policy explains what data eZe collects, how we store it, and who can see it. eZe provides stock market data to its users. By using the site, you agree to the practices described below.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

• Account information: a username, your email address, and optionally your first and last name.
• Password: stored as a hash. We never store or have access to your actual password.
• API tokens: if you generate an API token to access eZe programmatically, we store a hash of that token along with a short prefix (so you can identify it in your account), when it was last used, and when it expires. We do not store the raw token after it's first shown to you.
• Account status: whether your email is verified and whether you're subscribed to email updates.
• Usage data: anonymous session data collected through Umami analytics, including pages visited and general location (country/region). This data is not tied to your name or account and cannot identify you personally.

2. How We Store Your Data

All account data is stored on a self-hosted PostgreSQL database that we control directly. We do not use third-party cloud databases for this data.

Passwords are never stored as plain text. They are hashed before being saved, so even we cannot see your actual password.

3. Who Can Access Your Data

Access to the database is limited to a single employee, who uses it only for account support, troubleshooting, and legal or regulatory obligations. We do not have a team of staff browsing user data.

4. Analytics

We use Umami, a privacy-focused analytics tool, to understand how people use eZe. Umami does not use cookies and does not collect personally identifiable information. The data it collects cannot be linked back to your account.

5. What We Don't Do

• We do not sell your personal data to anyone, for any reason.
• We do not make your personal data public.
• We do not share your KYC information with advertisers or marketing companies.

6. Why We Collect This Data

We use your information to:

• Create and manage your account
• Authenticate you and let you generate API tokens
• Provide access to stock data and site features
• Improve the site based on general usage patterns
• Meet legal and regulatory requirements

7. Data Retention

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete an API token, its record is removed. If you close your account, we delete your data within a reasonable period, except where we're required to keep records for legal reasons.

8. Your Rights

You can ask us to:

• Show you the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Delete your account and personal data

9. Cookies

eZe uses only the cookies necessary for the site to function, such as keeping you logged in. Our analytics tool, Umami, does not use cookies.

10. Children's Privacy

eZe is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
